  My wife and I went to Jay's yesterday to pick up a few things for a house we're buying. The store itself has a lot of character. Merchandise is jammed in every nook and cranny. This isn't the place for someone who wants a "Home Depot experience" where everything is neat and clean (and service is terrible). Their selection is limited, but that's part of shopping local. As far as service is concerned, the guy working at the store, Joe, was friendly and very helpful. He offered to order parts that weren't in stock and even told us to hold off on purchasing one item "until you close on the house." You won't get any of that from a big box retailer. All-in-all it was a positive experience. I plan on going back again once we close.
